Final Algebra 2 Exhibition: Polynomials Project
Project Reflection:
I am exhibiting the Polynomials and Art Project. We did this project the 2nd semester and spent about 2-3 weeks on it.
In Algebra 2, a large part of the learning is graphing and solving complex equations. Therefore, learning to graph and solve polynomial equations is very important and beneficial for this class. In this project we learned how to create a polynomial equation by drawing the polynomial first and then creating the equation. We also learned what the minimums and maximums are in a polynomial and how to calculate those points on our calculators. Many calculator skills were mandatory to be successful in this project, which I know is beneficial for me in math classes in the future.
I really enjoyed this project because we were free to be creative, while also learning a lot about polynomials and how to create them and solve them. I wouldn’t have changed anything about this project because I enjoyed it and the outcome of my polynomial art.
Exhibition Reflection:
I would have showed the people my questions because no one actually asked me those. They were sitting on the desk, but no one actually saw them so I just explained my project and they asked their own questions about it.
My greatest strength in math in general is being able to learn new things easily and taking effective notes in class that help me in the future. My weakness is the simple math type of stuff. I'm not good at the quick addition and subtraction especially with negative numbers.

Semester Exam Project
I thought this project was very different than any other math project or assignment I've done in the past at Animas High. It was interesting that we were given the responsibility to create our own problems for our own exam. We had our own freedoms and responsibilities to take on as individuals and it was amusing to see how everyone else went about it. Overall, it was a successful project because everyone was able to pick their own problems that they are comfortable with, but it was also challenging because making math problems and solving them correctly can be difficult. It was challenging enough, and nice to have a little freedom so I enjoyed it.
To study for the exam, I am planning on attending Effi's or another math teachers office hours to ensure that I understand the content well enough to do problems on my own at home. In the textbooks, there are practice problems at the end of each chapter that are a great studying and practicing tool. I think doing a lot of those problems from each chapter every night leading up to the exam will definitely prepare me for it and benefit me a lot. Lastly, I will collaborate with my peers in class and out of class to see what they are doing to study and if we could potentially work together.
This semester of math has been pretty challenging but also enjoyable. Usually, I am not good at math and need extra help. But in the beginning of the semester I was really understanding the content and it showed that in my quizzes and tests. It didn't come super easy to me, but it wasn't extremely hard. It took studying and devotion to learn the content. I was really impressed and proud of myself because I usually am the one that ends up doing test corrections because of how much I struggle. I feel good in math right now and Algebra 2 just seems to come easier to me compared to other concepts like Geometry.
